For more than a century, the Virginian Hotel has been the backdrop for meaningful events – public and private, glamorous and simple, but always personal.

There are so many stories from Lynchburg’s most storied hotel.

Now, we want to hear your story. What part of your life was shared at the Virginian Hotel?

Maybe you walked down the marble staircase on a wedding day.  Maybe you encountered a movie star who was in town during the hotel’s heyday.

Did you work on the restoration project? Did one of your ancestors work at the hotel a century ago? Did you meet the love of your life under the vaulted ceiling?

Were you student when the building was a Liberty University dorm? Did you live in the building when it was low income housing?

How to participate?

Your story will be gathered with others in the “Virginian Hotel and Me” project this summer.

Our goal is to produce a history in video and print.

We are scheduling videotaping sessions for August now. We are also gathering photographs.

If you aren't in Lynchburg or can't attend a videotaping session, please send us your story and photos:
